Hello. Welcome to my world!
My most recent work, "Peony", has been accepted into the 2016 International Quilt Festival judged show, "Quilts a World of Beauty" in Houston, TX. I created "Peony" as a reminder of our many trips to Abkhazi Garden, Victoria, B.C. One of my most favorite places to visit, Abkhazi Garden is a charming and serene setting...home to beautiful flowers, plants, and trees that reflect a very sentimental story of Prince and Princess Abkhazi.
August-September 2014 500 Traditional Quilts Book and Exhibit
As an artist, I am so pleased that my work was included in the book, "500 Traditional Quilts" by Karey Bresenhan. I received my copy in the mail -- it is exciting to see my quilts, and all of the lovely quilts in this beautifully presented collection. Tournesol appears on page 273, and Arabesque appears on page 277.
Note: page 273 -- photographer's name should read: Michael Stadler (not Michele)
Additionally, both Tournesol and Arabesque will be included in the 2014-2015 Traveling Exhibit called, "Selections from 500 Traditional Quilts". Destinations for the exhibit include International Quilt Festival Houston, Texas Quilt Museum, International Quilt Festival Chicago, and Quilt! Knit! Stitch Portland!

March 2014 Machine Quilting Unlimited Magazine
While in the vendor section of the 2013 IQA Quilt Show, Houston, I came across the Meander Publishing booth and remembered that they sponsored the Honorable Mention awards for the 2013 Quilts: A World of Beauty Show. As a recipient of one such award for my quilt, "Winter", I wanted to personally say, "Thank you".
As luck would have it, the person at the booth that I spoke with was Vicki Anderson, owner of Meander Publishing. After thanking her for sponsoring the award and showing her a photo of "Winter", Vicki asked me if I would agree to allow them to include my quilt in a future issue of Machine Quilting Unlimited Magazine. Of course, I agreed!
To my surprise, I recently received an advance copy of the very issue.
"Thank you" to editors Kit Robinson and Diane Doran... It looks great!
Here is a photo of Machine Quilting Unlimited Magazine, March/April issue; see the Noteworthy section, page 78.
Also, a photo of "Winter" from their facebook page.

Oct./Nov. 2013 2013 International Quilt Festival: "Quilts a World of Beauty"
In July, I was notified that two of my quilts, "Winter" and "Alder and Sparrow," were juried into the 2013 International Quilt Festival: "Quilts a World of Beauty," Houston, TX, Oct. 31-Nov. 3. "Winter", in the Merit-Machine Quilting category, and "Alder and Sparrow" in the Art-Painted Surface category. In September, I was notified that "Winter" had won Honorable Mention-Merit Machine Quilting. Thank you, Meander Publishing and Bernina for the award. Additionally, I received confirmation that "Winter" was one of the quilts featured in the fourth annual 2013/2014 International Quilt Festival: Quilt Scene Magazine, published by Interweave Press...thank you!!
My husband and I, traveled to Houston on a combined trip to visit family and friends, and attend the Winner's Circle Award Ceremony -- it was very exciting. The quilt festival was wonderful and there were many beautiful and inspiring quilts. We had a great time!
If you haven't seen an issue of IQA's Quilt Scene Magazine, I encourage you to do so...and here it is. Their web address is http://www.interweave.com. "Winter" appears on page 39.
